How KSEB Bills are Calculated? |KSEB Bill Calculation

The software inside the billing machine is in the hands of the meter reader, dividing the total usage by two months and dividing it by half. Subsidy and discounts are calculated by the software itself, and the monthly bill is calculated and doubled to a two-month bill.

How To Find Single-Phase Domestic Consumer Bill:

Suppose one's two-month usage is 234 units. Its half is 117 units.

The tariff has two parts. Fixed Charge and Energy Charge.

Energy charges are calculated as follows:

3.15 for 50 units and Rs

51 to 100 Rs 3.70

101 to 150 Rs 4.80

6.40 for 151 to 200 Rs

7.60 for 201 to 250 Rs

Calculate the monthly electricity rate:

The bill counts up to 250 units per month in telescopic style. That means the energy charge for our first 50 units of 117 units is Rs 3.15, the next 50 units is 3.70 rupees and the 17 units is 4.80 rupees.

Energy charge (EC) = (50 x 3.15) + (50 x3.70) + (17 x 4.80) = 424.10 Rs.

Tax 10% = Rs 42.41

Meter Rental = Rs.6.00 (Single Phase)

Rent Tax 18% = 1.08 Rs

Meter Rental Cess = 0.06 Rs (1%)

Fuel surcharge = 11.70 (10 paise per unit)

Fixed charge = Rs 55 (see table)

Total = 540.35

How to calculate a two month bill(For  easier understanding )

Suppose your two-month consumption is 396 units.
This is how energy charge is calculated.

100 * 3.15 = 315 for the first 100 units

100 * 3.70 = 370 Rs

100 * 4.80 = 480 Rs

96 * 6.40 = 614.4 Rs

Total = 1779.4 Rs.

How to calculate the subsidy (one month):

5 x 1.50 = 7.50 at the rate of 1.50 per unit from 21-25

15 x 0.35 = 5.25 at the rate of 0.35 per unit for 26-40

77 x 0.50 = 38.50 at the rate of 0.50 per unit for 41-117

Energy Charge Subsidy = 7.50 + 5.25 + 38.50 = 51.25 Rs

Fixed Charge (Subsidy) = Rs

Total subsidy = 51.25 + 20 = 71.25 Rs

One Month Bill = 540 - 71.25 = 468.75

Quarterly bill = (468.75x 2) = 937.50

This means that the user who consumes 234 units in two months will get a bill of Rs 938. What if one's monthly household use is 780 units? The monthly usage is 390 units. Keep in mind that the monthly usage of 250 units is no longer a telescopic style.

The energy charge will be 390 x 6.90 = 2691 rupees

Tax 10% = 269.1 0 Rs

Meter Rental = Rs.6.00 (Single Phase)

Rent Tax 18% = 1.08 Rs

Meter Rental Cess = 0.06 Rs (1%)

Fuel surcharge = 39.00 (10 paise per unit)

Fixed charge = Rs 120

If the monthly usage exceeds 120 units(240 for two  months ), there is no subsidy

Total (2691 + 269.1 +6 +1.08 +0.06 +39 + 120) = 3126.24 Rs.

= 6252.48 for two months

Fixed charge and meter rental will change as per the list for 3 phase connection.
